Yes yogurt works fine as a sub for sour cream in some dishes. I use it in Chicken Paprikash instead of sour cream. I would not use it in a Beef Stroganoff, in that dish you want the distinct taste of sour cream. When a recipe calls for sour cream can you subtitute it with natural yogurt? if not how do you sour cream?
You can't really substitute sour cream for yogurt in a recipe. You don't actually sour it yourself - you buy it like that.
Please don't leave some normal cream in the sun and wait for it to go off before you use it. Might taste a bit icky. :)

You can substitute. Sour cream is a dairy product sold in the markets in the dairy section. Its all ready to go, should be near the yogurt.
yeah i'd just go and buy some from the store..
:)
Any kind of plain yogurt can be subsituted.
You go to the grocery store and buy sour cream. There is also lite sour cream, which has less fat. You can use natural yogurt in some recipes, but not all. Natural yogurt is more runny than sour cream.
I think that a substitute will depend on the recipe, but if in doubt, you can buy sour cream from the supermarket easily. (It's not actually cream gone sour.)
Yes you can substitute yogurt for sour cream. If you are baking and the recipe calls for sour cream or buttermilk you can sour your milk by putting about 1 tsp. vinegar in and stirring it. Be careful though, if the recipe calls for commercial sour cream you can use yogurt but not sour milk.
I just mix yogourt (3/4) with 1/4 cream. But also just yogurt is ok
YES THAT WILL BE FINE,USE THE SET YOGURT AS IT IS THICKER.
